Some kinds of wisdom only arrive through transformation – the sort that comes from holding both an ending and a beginning in your hands at once. For pianist and composer @RoseRiebl, this wisdom is woven into every note of her new album Dust, a work written in the space between her brother’s death and her daughter’s birth.⁠
⁠
Due for release on November 14, Dust is Rose’s second album, and finds her expanding beyond her neoclassical roots, weaving guitar, drums, and ambient textures into her signature piano work. The result is an album that holds space for grief and joy to coexist, where silence becomes as meaningful as sound.⁠

We chatted to Rose to find out more about how she transforms life’s most seismic moments into sound. ⁠

The Fabulous Fern! We’re losing count but we think Jessie has made four pairs now - we think that means they’ve had the Jessie tick of approval?! (They all look gorgeous btw)

👏 The Fern Pleated Pants. @PeppermintMagazine  and @IndyBindyFabrics with @Sohmo_au have given us a beauty of a pattern. 

Can I just say, once again, the fit on these pants, for me, is epic. 

Size H, length shortened and facing for the hem. 
I used a regular zip, just to show, that if you don’t have an invisible zip foot, you can still make these pants. 

 And what spring outfit would be complete without a matchy top. 
I had some small pieces left over, so I used a vintage 1975 McCalls pattern for inspiration, and made one to fit my measurements. 

This cotton/linen fabric was purchased when @SpotlightStores closed in town, it was $1m, and it was in my deep stash - AKA a box in the shed. 

So, why would you bother sewing your own clothes?

For me, it’s mainly the dramatic entrances and being able to look like your Aunts curtains from 1976.
